People like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Henry Ford and all the other history makers are regularly and religiously quoted not because they were or are more human than you and I. No! Infact, some of them were deemed to be of less value and importance in the areas where they communed, but they chose to sing a different tune. Frankly speaking, most of these “great men and women” didn’t reside in the same geographical location, neither did they go to the same school or eat on the same plate.
Actually some of them never even got to know that there were other individuals that had likewise made up their minds to do what they had decided to do- people that they could, out of consolation and solidarity, call brothers and sisters. All these had one thing in common; they all lived in the fulfillment of their purpose here on earth.
Not that diseases, war, rage or trouble never knocked at their front door. Infact one little girl was quoted saying that “When the devil knocks at my door, I send Jesus there.” These men and women likewise faced diverse temptations, but this did not blur the vision for their existence on this planet. The Holy scriptures in the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews says about these men and women that “the world was not worthy of them.”
At this point I ask, do you know why you are here or why you are in that school, hostel, at that work place or even in your family? Nelson Mandela, Steve Jobs (RIP), James Mulwana (RIP), etc were not more human than we are, they simply chose to live out their purpose of life here on earth. Irrespective of your religous affiliation, political background, or even economic stability, God expects you to live your purpose.
To some of the great men in history their purpose on earth was peace, justice, education, inspiration in the communities where they were divinely positioned like you and I. What will be said of us when we leave this temporary residence called earth? When we talk about Ford cars, Barclays bank, Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, all these bare names of people who went out of their ordinary way to discover and live for the purpose that got them here on earth. I strongly affirm that no matter your sex, religion, height or background, you are here on earth for a purpose and it is only in the fulfillment of your purpose here on earth that you will be fully satisfied in all your life.
Conclusively, I challenge and implore you to discover and live out your purpose here on earth so that even the person next door can clearly see it without you first introducing yourself.
You are here on earth for a purpose!
